This is Anduril’s 10th acquisition since it opened for business in 2017. Anduril has acquired a maker of cooled infrared cameras and components in a move to become a merchant supplier of those systems and further build out its portfolio of sensing technologies.
Founded in 2012, American Infrared Solutions has been a supplier of component technologies to Anduril for use in all military domains. With AIRS in its fold, Anduril will look to expand the functionality of its imaging products used in airborne autonomous missions and others that require situational awareness.
Terms of the transaction announced Monday were not disclosed, while AIRS will continue to work with its existing customer base out of the company’s New Hampshire facilities.
“AIRS’ product family joins Anduril’s existing family of imaging products, including the Iris long-range optical sensor and the Wisp high-performance 360-deg infrared camera,” Anduril’s release on the acquisition says. “Together, these systems deliver day and night visibility, detection, and tracking capabilities across a range of mission sets, from fixed-site surveillance to mobile operations.”
This is Anduril’s 10th acquisition since it opened for business in 2017 and second in 2025, following the purchase of Klas to bring in more tactical communications products.
